Not sure what others are up to in a regular weekend. Ours for now looks like this:
The perfect weekend starts by going to local farmers market (ours is Vidzemes tirgus on Matīsa street, Riga). Saying hello to our farmers and butchers. Picking out the best and seasonal produce by looking, touching, smelling and tasting. Tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, root vegetables. Beautiful and strong garlic and onion. Sweet apples and pears, some berries.
We talk to our butcher and get what she suggests - only the freshest and tastiest meat. Lamb chops and veal fillet for our weekend grill.
Then we pick up Ieva from pre-school and head off in a direction of a good weekend.
We cook and eat and pickle and rest and work. Best things in life.
